You decide how each kind of notification reaches you from the preferences matrix at the top of Settings → Notifications. It's a grid: notification categories down the side, delivery channels across the top.
The channels
- In-app — the bell and inbox. Always on: your inbox always keeps the record (you can still filter, mark read, or clear it).
- Toast — a brief pop-up when the notification arrives while you're in the app.
- Email — a message to your account email.
- Discord — a post to your personal Discord webhook (set it up in Settings → Webhooks).
Turning things on and off
- Flip any switch to change how that category is delivered — it saves instantly.
- A dash (—) means that channel doesn't apply to that category (for example, sync updates never email).
- Security and Billing are marked Required and locked on — these protect your account and money, so they can't be silenced.
Critical alerts also show the dismissible banner regardless of these settings.
Silencing one specific alert
The categories above are deliberately coarse. If a single alert is the problem — a “new sign-in” ping every time you log in, say — open Fine-tune by alert underneath the grid. Every alert type gets its own row, and you can switch it off on any channel without touching the rest of its category.
- A cell marked auto has no setting of its own and is simply following the category above it. The moment you flip it, it stops following and keeps your choice.
- In-app can be switched off here, even though it's locked on in the category grid. That is the point of this section: it is the only way to stop one particular alert from reaching your bell.
- Rows that can't be switched off say why, right on the row. A failed payment affects your access and a change to two-factor authentication affects your security, so both are always delivered.
One daily email instead of many
If you want to hear from us but not several times a day, turn on Daily email summary. Instead of an email per alert you get one message a day listing everything that happened, and alerts that go in it are tagged Daily in the fine-tune list.
- Your in-app inbox is unchanged — the summary only affects email. Everything still arrives at the bell as it happens.
- Urgent alerts are never held back. A failed payment or a security change is emailed immediately, summary or not.
- Turning the summary off returns you to an email per alert; nothing already queued is lost.
