You decide how each kind of notification reaches you from the preferences matrix at the top of Settings → Notifications. It's a grid: notification categories down the side, delivery channels across the top.
The channels
- In-app — the bell and inbox. Always on: your inbox always keeps the record (you can still filter, mark read, or clear it).
- Toast — a brief pop-up when the notification arrives while you're in the app.
- Email — a message to your account email.
- Discord — a post to your personal Discord webhook (set it up in the same Settings tab).
Turning things on and off
- Flip any switch to change how that category is delivered — it saves instantly.
- A dash (—) means that channel doesn't apply to that category (for example, sync updates never email).
- Security and Billing are marked Required and locked on — these protect your account and money, so they can't be silenced.
Critical alerts also show the dismissible banner regardless of these settings.
