The filter bar sits at the top of both the Trades table and the Journal, and both surfaces now run the same filter — a filter you set on one means exactly the same thing on the other, and on your phone.
The bar
- Symbol, Date, Status, Side, Asset class, P&L, Tags, Mistakes, Account — the everyday facets, one pill each.
- Status → Active means anything not yet closed: planned and open positions together.
- Picking one filter narrows the others. Choose an account and the symbol list shrinks to that account's symbols; options with nothing behind them are dimmed rather than hidden, so you can still see what exists.
More filters
The More button opens the review-depth facets — the questions you ask when you are looking for a pattern rather than a trade:
- Strategy and Rating (including “No strategy” and “Unrated”) — pick several at once.
- Checklist — followed your plan, broke a rule, or never used a checklist.
- Notes and Screenshot — find the trades you never wrote up.
- R-multiple and Return bands, and Hold time (scalp, intraday, swing, position).
- MFE / MAE — only the trades that carry a captured excursion window.
- Session — Asia, London, New York, or after hours, taken from the trade's entry time.
- Source — hand-entered or pulled in by a broker sync.
- Option type and Time to expiry (0DTE upward), measured at entry — shown only if you trade options.
Every option shows how many trades sit behind it under your other filters. Anything you switch on is listed at the top of the panel as a chip you can remove with one click, and the More button itself shows how many are on — so you always know a filter is there even when the panel is closed.
What a facet does when it can't be known
Some facets need data a trade may not have: hold time needs an exit, R-multiple needs a stop, session needs an entry time. Those trades are left out of that filter rather than dropped into a default bucket — a bucket they didn't earn would quietly change what the numbers say.
Saving a filter as a view
Views saves the current filter under a name, on the trades table and the journal alike, and the trades table also remembers its visible columns and sort. Views are shared between the two, so “Losing 0DTE calls” opens the same set wherever you are. Loading an older view still works — any facet it predates simply comes back as “Any”.
On your phone
The mobile trades list carries the same panel inside its Filters sheet, under the side, asset class and date controls. The count badge on the Filters button includes them.
Fixed in this release: the Asset class pill on the Journal looked active but filtered nothing — the journal had its own copy of the filter code and that facet was missing from it. Both pages now share one implementation, so a facet can never work on one screen and not the other.
