Sharing a trade with a read-only link

Send one closed trade to a coach or a trading group — choose what the link shows, how long it lasts, and revoke it any time.

You can send one closed trade to someone who does not use Ledger of Alpha — a coach, a mentor or a trading group — as a read-only link. They see a single card for that trade and nothing else from your journal.

Creating a link

  1. Open the trade in the Journal and press the share button in its header (on a phone, open the journal entry). On desktop you can also use Share link in the trade's ⋮ menu on the Trades page. Both appear only on closed trades.
  2. Choose what the link shows and how long it lasts. The preview on the right is exactly what the reader will see.
  3. Press Create link, then Copy.

What the link shows

  • Always: a quick card with the symbol and direction, the price move in large type, the R multiple, the entry and exit prices, the close date and a small price line with your entry and exit marked.
  • Only if you tick it: your net P&L in dollars. It is off by default.
  • Never: your notes, your position size, your account name or balance, your email, or any other trade.
  • The card carries a QR code that opens the Ledger of Alpha website.

Why only closed trades

An open or planned trade is a live position. A public card with its entry, stop and target would read as a trade call, so the share button does not appear until the trade is closed.

Editing a trade after sharing it

A link is a snapshot of the trade at the moment you created it. Editing the trade afterwards does not change what the link shows. To share the updated version, create a new link and revoke the old one.

Expiry and revoking

  • A link lasts 7, 30 or 90 days, or until you revoke it. The default is 30 days.
  • Revoke a link from the share dialog, or from Settings → Security → Shared links, which lists every link you have created. A revoked link stops working immediately.
  • Deleting the trade also stops every link to it.
  • Links are never listed in search engines.
