Your dashboard calendars mark days that carry a scheduled economic release — CPI, the jobs report, an FOMC rate decision, GDP and more. The point is context: on a past day it shows what was on the schedule when you traded, and on an upcoming day it shows what is due.
Reading the markers
A small dot appears on any day with an event, coloured by how much the release typically moves markets:
- Red — high impact. FOMC rate decisions, CPI, the Employment Situation (nonfarm payrolls), GDP, and Personal Income & Outlays (PCE).
- Amber — medium impact. PPI, retail sales, weekly jobless claims, JOLTS, industrial production, and earnings dates for symbols you currently hold.
Hover a marker to see the full event name. Click the day to open its popup, which lists the events above that day's trades — so on the weekly strip and the monthly heatmap you can read "what was scheduled" and "what I did" together. Days that have an event but no trades are clickable too.
Choosing how markers look
In Settings → Appearance → Economic Calendar Markers you can pick:
- Marker style — a dot only, the short label only (CPI, NFP), or both. The monthly heatmap and the phone calendar always use a dot, because their day cells are too small to fit a label.
- Show events — all events, high impact only, or medium impact only. This only changes what is displayed; it does not change what is tracked.
Where the dates come from
Economic releases come from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis (FRED), the official publication schedule for US economic data. FOMC meeting dates come from the Federal Reserve's published calendar. Earnings dates cover symbols you currently hold and are available on paid plans.
Dates are the officially scheduled ones and can be revised by the issuing agency — the Fed itself notes that each meeting date is tentative until confirmed at the preceding meeting. Coverage is US-market data, matching the New York timezone the rest of the app uses.
What this is and isn't
This is a record of publicly scheduled release dates, shown next to trades you have already logged. It does not predict how a market will react, and it is not a recommendation to trade or avoid trading on any given day.
