The Session Clock (Tools → Markets & Instruments, or the floating calculator panel on any page) takes a time in one timezone and reads that same instant on every other clock that matters — plus which of the four major sessions were open.
Why this matters more than it looks
Three things a trader reads are each quoted in somebody else’s wall clock: a broker export, an economic release, and a prop firm’s daily reset. Get one wrong by an hour and the trade lands in the wrong session — or, on a prop account, on the wrong side of the reset, where it counts against a different day’s loss limit.
Reading the result
- The time and date in the target zone. Both, always — see below.
- The day roll — same day, next day (+1) or previous day (−1). This is the half of the answer a plain time converter drops, and it is the half that decides which trading day something belongs to. 08:00 on a Wednesday in Tokyo is Tuesday evening in New York.
- The UTC offset in force on that date, not today’s. 09:30 in New York is 13:30 UTC in July and 14:30 UTC in January, so daylight saving is already handled — including for zones that change on different dates from yours.
- The four sessions — Sydney, Tokyo, London and New York — each on its own local clock, marked Open, Closed or Weekend. The weekend is judged on each session’s own calendar, because Sunday evening in New York is already Monday in Tokyo.
What it does not cover
Regular cash-equity hours only: no pre- or post-market, no exchange holidays, and no futures overnight sessions. It is a clock for reading a timestamp, not a trading calendar — and it never suggests when to trade.
