The Top News panel on the market recap lists general financial-market headlines for the day you are viewing, each with its source, its publication time and — where the provider identifies them — the tickers it refers to.
How old the headlines are
Above the panel is a line reading "Newest headline 24m old", or similar. It is the age of the freshest story in the list, measured from the time the publisher stamped it. Each row carries its own age as well, and hovering one shows the exact publication time in your local timezone.
Headlines are ordered newest first. News reaches us through a third-party feed rather than directly from the publishers, so there is normally some lag between a story appearing and appearing here — the label is there so you can see how much, rather than having to assume. If the freshest item is more than two hours old, the label turns red.
If the times looked wrong before
Until September 2026 the recap added your timezone offset to every headline's age, so stories read as several hours older than they were — three hours out for readers in Central European Summer Time, eight for Singapore, none at all for the UK in winter. The times shown now are the publishers' own. Nothing about your trades or any other figure on the page was affected; it was only the news timestamps.
Viewing a past day
Move the recap's date back and the news moves with it: the panel then shows headlines published on that calendar day only, so a past session is not narrated with stories that had not happened yet. The age label will naturally read in days rather than minutes.
When the panel is empty
"No news available" means the feed returned nothing for that day. That is usually a market holiday, a date further back than the feed keeps, or a temporary outage — it is not a sign that anything is wrong with your account or your data. The rest of the recap is unaffected.
