Stocks, ETFs, forex and crypto prices are live: the price, the day's change and the chart's last candle move with every trade, with no refresh. On a 1-minute chart you can watch the current candle form.
The orange D
Futures, commodities, option contracts, indices and Treasury yields come from a delayed source. While that market is open, an orange D sits beside the symbol on the chart and in the watchlist. Hover it to see how late the prices can be: about 10 minutes for futures, 15 minutes for options, up to 15 minutes for indices and yields. When the market is closed the D goes away, because the last price is final.
Things to know
- Delayed symbols still refresh on their own, about every 30 seconds, a little behind the exchange.
- Before the open and after the close, a stock's price is its last extended-hours trade, marked PRE or AH (see Pre-market and after-hours prices).
- A chart with Extended hours off never adds pre- or post-market trades to its candles.
- The demo shows sample prices, not live ones.
