What dates a trade's chart shows

Why a closed trade's chart ends at its exit — and what to do when a timeframe says No data.

Every chart attached to a trade — the one in the trade form, the journal review chart, and the card thumbnail — is framed around the trade itself, not around today.

The window

  • A closed trade's chart ends shortly after its exit, so the last candle you see is the one you traded out of. If the trade has no exit time recorded, it runs to the end of the exit day.
  • An open or planned trade runs up to now — the position is still live, so the chart keeps following the market.
  • Times are read in the trade's timezone (US market hours by default).

If a timeframe says “No data”

Intraday history from our market-data provider is limited: 1-minute candles go back about a month, and 5 / 15-minute candles about 60 days. Older trades simply have no intraday history left to draw, so switch that chart to 1H, 1D, or 1W. Hourly reaches back roughly two years; daily and weekly go back years.

The timeframe you leave a trade on is saved with it, so it opens the same way next time.
