On the chart page, the + beside the symbol adds another symbol to the same chart as a line — to see how a stock moved against SPY, its sector ETF or a competitor without two charts side by side.
Adding, hiding and removing
- Click +, then search for a symbol or type it and press Enter. Up to four per chart, each in its own colour.
- The same window lists what is compared: the colour dot changes a line’s colour, the four line buttons its thickness, the eye hides it and keeps it, and the × removes it.
- The list belongs to the chart tab, so each pane of a split layout can compare different symbols. It stays when you change the timeframe or the chart’s own symbol.
The percent scale
While a comparison is on, the price scale reads in percent, measured from the first bar on the screen: every line, the candles included, starts at 0% there and shows how far it has moved since. Scroll and the starting bar moves with you. Remove or hide the last compared symbol and the scale goes back to prices (or to log, if that is what you had).
The candles keep their real prices underneath, so your drawings, alerts and trade levels are where they were. The legend under the symbol shows each compared symbol’s real price and its change for the bar under your cursor — never the line’s position on the scale.
On your phone
The phone’s chart draws the comparison you set up on the desktop for the same symbol, with each symbol’s last price above the chart. Adding and removing symbols is on the desktop for now.
A comparison is not shown in a bar replay or a backtest: a compared symbol’s later bars would give the replay away.
